Winter Collection

In June, Eastgate Shopping Centre launched its three-month long #CreateTomorrow Winter Essentials Drive, which called on the public to donate much needed items, such as clothing, blankets, groceries and toiletries, for those most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and nationwide lockdowns.

Three visible donation boxes were placed in the shopping centre, which served as the ‘drop-off’ points for these donations.

The initiative’s beneficiary was Kensington CAN – a Community Action Network based in the suburb of Kensington, Johannesburg – whose mission is to respond to the social needs presented in the community, whether it be through providing food, masks, hygiene and living essentials, or learning resources.
